World War II veterans to receive Congressional Recognition Saturday

FELLSMERE — All US Navy Armed Guard & Merchant Marine Veterans of World War II are ordered to report at Marsh Landing Restaurant at 44 N. Broadway, Fellsmere, at 8 a.m. Nov. 21.

U.S. Congressman Bill Posey will be at the meeting to present all US Navy Armed Guard and Merchant Marine veterans with the Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from service during World War II. Members are asked to wear their hats and T-shirts to the meeting.

Also on the agenda is keynote speaker Lee Boyland, who served three years in the US Army as a lieutenant. He is well qualified in all types of weapons including nuclear, chemical, biological and conventional.

After 9/11, Boyland realized that much information about nuclear weapons in the media, TV, movies, and fiction and nonfiction books was either inaccurate or misleading. To counteract that, he wrote his first book, “The Rings of Allah.”

Please come early this is going to be a busy meeting. Bring a friend, everybody is welcome.
