Virginia Glenn Barfield McClure, 82, died Oct. 20, 2009. She was born in Henning, Tenn., and lived in Vero Beach.
Before retirement, she worked as a secretary at Vero Beach High School and for the Indian River County schools superintendent and Indian River County School Board. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Naomi Circle, Golden Girls, Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames and Florida Retired Educators Association, former member of the church board and honorary member of Delta Kappa Gamma.
Survivors include her husband, William H. McClure; daughter, Suzanne McClure Wilk; and son, William H. McClure Jr. She was preceded in death by her sister, Louise Black.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home Chapel, Vero Beach. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 23 at the First United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Charles Lever presiding. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
