Jose Manuel Fanlo, Sr., 76, Vero Beach

Jose Manuel Fanlo, Sr., 76, of Vero Beach,died Thursday, Oct. 22, 2009 at his home after a brief illness.

Fanlo was born Sept. 29, 1933 in Havana, Cuba and moved to Vero Beach in 1991 from Miami.

He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. Before his retirement he worked for Atlantic Roofing Co. in Vero Beach for 4 years.

Fanlo was a Living Lord Lutheran Church member, and a former member of the American Legion in Vero Beach.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Rosalie Fanlo of Vero Beach, daughter Maria Luisa Fanlo of Miami; son Jose Fanlo, Jr. of Miami;, daughter Lydia Reed of Vero Beach; step-daughters Colette Krinock of San Jose, Calif.; Cynthia Sweeney of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and Coleen Leonardi of San Jose, Calif.; brother Saturnino Fanlo of Madison, N.J.; two granddaughters, three great-grandchildren, one niece and two nephews.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009 at the Living Lord Lutheran Church in Vero Beach with the Rev. David Charlton presiding.
