A 41-year-old man was jailed after leading deputies on a two-county chase that ended with his sports utility vehicle crashing in the woods last weekend, authorities said. Patrol deputies tried to stop the SUV by bumping its rear left side, helicopter video showed. Cory Twan Richardson, of Fort Pierce, was charged with felony fleeing and eluding and reckless driving. Richardson was held Thursday at the Indian River County Jail on $125,000 bond. Richardson had an active St. Lucie County warrant for his arrest at the time of the incident. Indian River County sheriff's officials on Tuesday released St. Lucie Sheriff's Office helicopter footage of the chase. INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 29-year-old patient was fatally shot at Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital after deputies said he lunged at officers with a pair of large scissors Saturday. The Treasure Coast man's name was not publicly released. "It happened in five seconds. He could've killed anyone in that hospital. He committed suicide by cop," Indian River County Sheriff Eric Flowers said during a Sunday news conference in front of the sheriff's administration building. 1 patient remains at hospital following deadly Jan. 15 crash

VERO BEACH — One patient - a student - remains hospitalized following a deadly two-vehicle wreck that killed 20-year-old rowing team member Grace Rett and injured several others last week, a hospital official said. The unidentified patient - a member of Holy Cross Crusaders women's rowing team - was listed in critical condition, said Tiffany Woods, public relations director for Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute in Fort Pierce.
