‘Fight me, I’ll kill you,’ – Man pulls knife on pub patrons

VERO BEACH — A 60-year-old man was arrested after he pulled a pocket knife on three pub patrons and said he was going to "cut them up," police said. The man - identified as Thomas Potter - told the victims, "fight me, I'll kill you," reports show. Potter told officers the three victims had jumped him and stole his wallet at the Alibi Pub a few days earlier, reports show. Dispatchers told police there were no reports of that incident. Police arrested Potter, of Delmar Avenue, on three counts of aggravated assault. Potter was held Thursday at the Indian River County Jail on $15,000 bond. Neighbor accused of spraying dogs with ant killer

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 75-year-old woman suspected of spraying her neighbor's two dogs with ant killer in a residential backyard, was arrested last week, authorities said. A second neighbor saw the woman - identified as Carol Watt - walk up to the fence and spray both dogs in the face repeatedly, reports show. The neighbor told deputies he saw Watt antagonize the pets in the past by sticking her hands between the fence and kicking the fence to get the dogs' attention. The animals were a 2-year-old German Shepherd and a 14-year-old Doberman, authorities said. Rescued dogs available for adoption Friday

VERO BEACH — A group of dogs recently rescued from dire circumstances in Puerto Rico will be available for adoption Friday, according to the Humane Society of Vero Beach & Indian River County. The 18 mixed-breed street dogs once left for dead were rescued by local animal advocates in Puerto Rico, flown to Fort Lauderdale by the Humane Society of the United States and taken in and cared for by the local humane agency. The dogs are small to medium sized, range from three months to nine years old and are ready to find new homes throughout Indian River County.
