Edward E. Baker, Sr., 83, Barefoot Bay; WWII, Korean War veteran

Edward E. Baker, Sr., 83 of Barefoot Bay, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at Sebastian River Medical Center in Sebastian. He was born April 8, 1926, in Waltham, Mass., and raised in Saugus, Mass.,  and was a resident of Barefoot Bay since 1987, and spent summers at Sacandaga  Lake, N.Y.   Mr. Baker was employed with Smith Corona (SCM) for  25 years as a sales manager. He graduated from Bentley Collage and Suffolk  University. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sebastian,  the Sebastian River Shrine Club, the Scottish Rite of Orlando with the  distinction of being a Master Mason of the 32nd Degree and a member of the AZAN  Shrine Center, American Legion, the Elks Club, of Clifton Park N.Y., the Bocci Club,  of Barefoot Bay, and the New England Club, of Barefoot Bay. He was a veteran of  the Navy in WWII and the Korean Conflict.Survivors include his wife of  55 years, Barbara (Tatro) Baker; son, Edward Baker Jr., of  Brattleboro, Vt.; daughters Lynda Beattie and Carol Cogswell, both from Clifton  Park, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.
