Judith “Judy” M. Ware, 74, Barefoot Bay

June 13, 1947 – April 23, 2022

Judith “Judy” M. Ware, 74, of Barefoot Bay, FL passed away Saturday, died April 23, 2022, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, FL.

Judy was born in Hartford, CT to the late Malcolm and Alice Yacavone McInnis.  She spent most of her life in Colchester, CT and had moved to Barefoot Bay four years ago from Manchester, CT.

Before her retirement, Judy had worked for Edward Jones Investments, S. & S. Worldwide, and The Hartford Insurance Company.

Upon retiring to Barefoot Bey, she served on the volunteer auxiliary at Sebastian River Hospital.  Throughout her life, Judy enjoyed volunteering her time in animal rescue shelters, as well as her time spent gardening, bowling, and playing backgammon. But nothing could surpass the importance of her family to her.

Survivors include her husband Frank Drought, sons Rob (Guiang) Chen-Ware of Brooklyn, NY and Zach (Yvonne) Ware of Chelmsford, MA, grandchildren Veronica, Wesley, and Zoey, and a brother James McInnis of Chickasaw, AL.

A gathering with the family to celebrate her life will take place at a later date.

Philip F. Savage, 90, Vero Beach

April 7, 1932 – April 16, 2022

Philip F. Savage was born on April 7, 1932 in Birmingham, MI died peacefully at home on Saturday, April 16th, 2022 under Hospice care.

Philip, who was the youngest of 13 children, was a longtime resident of Birmingham, MI and attended Baldwin High School. Later, he went to Michigan State University where he played tennis and also belonged to the Phi Delta Theta fraternity.

He began his career as a men’s fashion editor at J.L. Hudson Dept., and then moved on to Campbell Ewald as a copywriter in Detroit, MI. Finally, he went to Ford Motor Company where he worked for 32 years in corporate identity and traveled the world with this job.

Philip is survived by his wife Sally Savage, with whom he was married to for 41 years; children Charles Savage (Marcia), Donna Klein Anthony, Joan Klein Aresco (Joseph); eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He had a very active tennis career with Birmingham Tennis Club and served as President two times; he was also active in the St. Dunstan’s Theater Group and loved to sing and entertain, and was also a good banjo player. He was President of Cranbrook Music Guild in MI, and V.B. Chorial Society in Vero Beach, Florida.

He enjoyed a breakfast group, golf group, and tennis group and Molt Heath Golf Group; he was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and Holy Name Church in Birmingham, MI and eucharistic ministers of both. Phil was a member of Oak Harbor Club and the Moorings Yacht and Country Club. Philip moved to Vero Beach in 1993 and played golf, as well as tennis regularly and loved it. He retired at age 62 and never looked back, living life to the fullest.

We are most grateful to Tina Clayton and Fabian Walker for their caregiving, and especially to Beau Knoles and Yvette Camron his Hospice nurses for their care. Donations are suggested to VNA Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, Florida 32960 may be made in memory of Phil Savage.

Memorial services for Phil will be held later in the year.

Leona Mary Rivasi, 100, Florida

April 18, 1922 – April 20, 2022

Mrs. Carl (Lee) Rivasi peacefully passed away on April 20, 2022.

Lee was the daughter of Maria and Frank Zickar of De Pue, Illinois.

Lee and her husband Carl lived in 14 different locations in the United States before settling in Florida in 1986. Lee was preceded in death by her son, Carl Lee Rivasi and her husband, Carlo Rivasi.

Lee was a supportive member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach, FL and was also a member of the Women’s Guild.

She was deeply involved in charitable activities, particularly with children, in Marietta, Ohio with the Red Cross, where the children called her the “Ice Cream Lady” because she always stopped to treat them on the way home from the children’s hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Lee also volunteered at the United Nations UNICEF gift shop. She was very active in TWIG, the Columbus, Ohio organization that supported the city’s children’s hospital. She had earned sales person of the year several times in these efforts. She was highly praised by Dean Jeffers, chairman of the Nationwide Insurance Company, as one of the best salesperson he’d ever met!

Lee was also a very talented artist, and sold many of her paintings through the Indianapolis Art Museum while we lived there.

We all will miss her acts of kindness and smiles for everyone!

Burial will be at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery in Mims, Florida.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 6, 2022 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Vero Beach.

William J. Lowe, 78

November 12, 1943 – April 22, 2022

The world lost a kind and generous soul on April 22nd with the passing of Bill Lowe. Following more then 16 years of Scleroderma, Bill passed away peacefully at home in the care of his wife of 38 years, Clare.
He is also survived by his loving niece, Leigh DeRosa and Sister-in-law, Marie Grady. He is fondly remembered by his loving friends in Vero Beach, Georgia, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut & Rhode Island.
