‘The heartbeat of SRHS’ – Family, friends remember Billy Wilson

SEBASTIAN — Billy Wilson's impact on the community over the years was evident Saturday as family, friends, coaches, school board members and deputies gathered to pay final respects. Then, on June 19, the 34-year-old became a "hometown hero" after he was fatally shot while helping others escape a gunman carrying an AK-47 assault rifle at a Sebastian pizzeria. Funeral for marine vet killed in shooting set for Tues

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Family and friends will pay final tributes Tuesday to a marine corps veteran fatally shot while helping people escape from a gunman armed with an assault rifle, officials said. The funeral for 34-year-old Frank Shelton Strahorn, Sebastian, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lakeside Fellowship Church, 8000 66th Avenue, Vero Beach, according to his obituary.
