VERO BEACH — For the second year in a row, the Vero Beach Art Club’s Under the Oaks Fine Art & Craft Show has been named the “Best Art & Craft Show in Florida” by Florida Monthly Magazine’s Best of 2010.
This year the show is celebrating its 60th Diamond Anniversary and the Under the Oaks Committee is planning to make this the most enjoyable ever, with the finest selection of artists, food and entertainment. Under The Oaks will be held the weekend of March 11 to 13 at Riverside Park in Vero Beach.
Winning this distinction two years in a row is a great achievement. It is one the members of the Art Club do not take lightly. It is a great honor that reflects the work that has been done very professionally by the Vero Beach Art Club volunteers to make this Treasure Coast favorite known to all of Florida and beyond as one of the top art shows in the nation.
Under the Oaks has consistently attracted over 80,000 art lovers for the three day show. It is a one of very few shows in the country that artists, from around the US and internationally, compete for spaces. Being “Under the Oaks” is a perfect setting.
The Under The Oaks Fine Art & Craft Show is one of the largest established art shows on the Treasure Coast and has a major positive impact on the local business economy. Not only visiting artists, who tend to stay up to four days in the area (and also visit area shops and restaurants), but also the many art-loving visitors who have begun to make the area a weekend getaway to see and visit Indian River’s many assets. Local Island residents are the mainstay who every year, contribute to, support and attend this show.
