Indian River Shores council appoints new Town Manager

INDIAN RIVER SHORES — Indian River Shores Building Official Richard Jefferson will take over as the town’s manager after current manager Robert Bradshaw leaves for a new post in Texas on May 14.

Jefferson is expected to continue carrying his duties as the town’s building official while taking on the new responsibilities as manager. The Indian River Shores council is expected to review Bradshaw’s contract and modify it to suit Jefferson’s dual-role with the town.

Bradshaw is leaving the Town of Indian River Shores to take over as the Port Aransas City Manager, located on Mustang Island in south Texas.

Bradshaw has served the Town of Indian River Shores for nearly eight years.

More FWC officers to help with storm aftermath

More Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officers will be sent to Houston, Texas, following additional requests from Texas for continued emergency assistance after Tropical Storm Harvey. On Saturday, 25 FWC officers, 17 high-water vehicles, two mobile command centers, eight shallow draft vessels and four patrol boats left for Houston. Thirty-seven FWC officers and 21 boats are currently headed to Houston to help with ongoing search and rescue and disaster response efforts, officials said.
