Learn Pysanky Easter Egg Dying

VERO BEACH — Join Marg Putzke at the Center for Spiritual Care to learn Pysanky Easter Egg Dying.  Classes are from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday, March 11 and from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursday March 18 and Thursday, March 25.  Pysanky Easter Egg Dying is the traditional Ukrainian method of making wax-dyed eggs to celebrate the fertility and new life that Easter brings. Participants will learn how to make and care for these gems in Session 1.  Sessions 2 and 3 will provide an opportunity to practice the technique and create additional eggs.

The symbolism of the egg is not lost on Marg, nor is her Polish heritage; combining the two, lead her to explore the ancient art of Pysanky, Polish/Ukrainian egg decorating. Using authentic tools, wax, dyes, and spiritual symbols, we will create artful eggs throughout the weeks of Lent leading to the celebration of Easter.

Donation: $40 first session; $10 for each subsequent session
