UPDATE: Suspects named in Vero robbery-turned-homicide case

Staff ReportVERO BEACH — The victim of an apparent home burglary on 41st Avenue last Friday has died of his injuries, turning the case into a homicide investigation, according to the Vero Beach Police Department.Authorities are now looking for two suspects, 21-year-olds William “Tazz” Anthony Peacock Jr. and Robert “Little Rob” Edward Carhart Jr.

The subjects had been staying at 1656 3rd Ave. SW, and were last seen there on Aug. 29, said Vero Beach Police spokesman Officer John Morrison. Anyone with information regarding the suspects or their whereabouts is asked to call the Vero Beach Police Department at (772) 978-4600. The victim was severely beaten and found in the rear of his yard in the 1500 block of 41st Ave. on Aug. 28. He had been taken to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in St. Lucie County to be treated but then succumbed to his injuries.

Officers were called to the house at 7:22 a.m. Friday in response to an injured person in the rear yard.

Investigators went into the home and determined that items were missing from the house. What items and their combined value were not immediately know.

The Vero Beach Police Department is continuing its investigation and will release details as they become available.
