INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A 35-year-old woman suspected of using her company credit card to purchase more than $6,000 in personal items – including unauthorized hotel stays and plane tickets to Hawaii – was arrested last week, deputies said.
Deputies said Jamie Holiefield made the unauthorized transactions from May 2016 to July 2018. Holiefield was terminated from her job as regional director of operations with Harbor Retirement Associates in August 2018, reports show.
Deputies on Nov. 30 arrested Holiefield, of Oviedo, on a charge of organized fraud. Holiefield was released Nov. 30 from the Indian River County Jail on $5,000 bond.
In October, Indian River County deputies and Vero Beach police spoke with a worker at Harbor Retirement Associates. The worker told law enforcement that a former employee, Holiefield, made several purchases with her company credit card that were not business related, reports show.
The worker gave deputies copies of every receipt along with other documents for every charge on the card. Several of these transactions happened in Vero Beach.
HRA first noticed the unauthorized transactions from Holiefield’s company credit card in February. The company confronted Holiefield about two airline flight purchases and two non-business related hotel stays.
Deputies said Holiefield told HRA she accidentally charged the company, and later reimbursed them. However, the company gave deputies documents showing more non-business related transactions from Holiefield.
Those transactions include nine unauthorized hotel stays, two cash advances, two gift cards, two rental cars and weight loss products, reports show.
Deputies arrested Holiefield on a warrant. Holiefield has an arraignment at 8:45 a.m. Jan. 18, 2019, court records show.
