Martha J. Daigneau, 83, Vero Beach

Martha J. Daigneau, 83, of Vero Beach, passed away on July 23, 2016, in West Melbourne.

She is survived by her daughters Phyllis Dixon (Richard), Marsha Knowles (Randy) and Vicky Chandler (Voe). She had 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. Her sisters Maggie Yates and Vivian Fendley also survive her.

She is predeceased by her parents Lonzie and Essie Johns; her son Randy Chandler; her brothers, Johnny Ben, Buddy and Harvey Johns and sister Reba Lloyd.

Daigneau was born May 6, 1933, in Polk City, Fla., to Lonzie Lee and Essie Mae Johns. She was a lifetime resident of Florida and graduated from Fellsmere High School. She loved driving the school bus in Okeechobee County while skinning frogs, gator hunting and working at a restaurant.

She left Okeechobee County and moved to Stuart to work at Solitron Industries for 20 years as a manager of a production line. She retired in 1996, moving to her home in Roseland, Fla.
