James Michael Mattingly, 60, of Sebastian, passed away on July 24, 2016.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Diane Mattingly of Sebastian; son James Dominick Mattingly of Orlando; daughters Margaret Elizabeth Mattingly and Rebecca Lynn Mattingly both of Sebastian; sister Shirley Whetstine (Joseph) of Vero Beach; brother David Mattingly (Renee) of Vincennes, Ind.; and his beloved dog Jack.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Robert and Margaret Mattingly; step-mother, Alice Mattingly and sister Mary Bottoms.
Mattingly was born in Washington, Ind., and lived in Sebastian since 1981.
He worked 27 years for St. Helen’s Catholic Church as a Teacher and Coach where he loved coaching volleyball, track and field and basketball.
He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach, and a part of the Knights of Columbus.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016 at St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach.
