Robert A. Allan Jr., of Vero Beach passed away Oct. 15, 2016.
He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 70 years, Phyllis Charlotte (Donelly) Allan of Vero Beach; children, grandchildren and great-grand-children are many and proudly listed below:
Barry Allan (Cathy) and his daughter Katie Allan, Robert Allan (Teresa) and his children Robert Allan (daughter Raquel), Scott Allan (sons Zachary and John-Cole, daughter Jessica), Jason Allan (daughters Bailey, Macey and Jayla) and daughter Chelsea Allan (daughter Olivia) Susan Koblegard (Chip) and sons Christopher Koblegard, Matthew Koblegard and Shawn Koblegard (son Connor) Kathryn Hedrick (Richard), son Adam Dickson and daughter Megan Eskind (son Liam)Richard Allan (Tavie), daughters Mackenzie Allan and Octavia Allan,David Allan (Jennifer), daughters Jenna Allan, Sarah Allan, Arran Allan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Allan Sr and Edith (Barth) Allan; infant son Kenneth Allan; great-granddaughter Adelyn Koblegard, daughter of Mathew Koblegard (Angie); and two brothers Richard Allan (Rosalie) and Walter Allan (Ruth).
Allan was born in Newport, R.I. and moved to West Palm Beach in 1956 after serving in the Army during World War II. He relocated to Fort Pierce in 1962, joining State Farm Insurance and serving as a local Agent serving the community in that capacity for 20 years until his retirement at age 60.
He was a former member of Indian River Presbyterian Church in Fort Pierce.
Allan was a modern-day renaissance man and challenged himself throughout his life as he pursued new passions such as foreign language and travel abroad. He was also an artist, pilot, poet and song writer.
Robert Angus Allan, loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather was celebrated in a private service held on Oct. 16, 2016. He will be sadly missed and always celebrated.
