Harry A. Field, 80, Vero Beach

Harry A. Field, 80, of Vero Beach, passed away on Aug. 10, 2016.

He is survived by his daughters Wendy Christopher and Karen Perrone, and his son Brian Field; Son-in-laws, Austin Christopher and Vito Perrone, and daughter-in-law Pamela Field; grandchildren Jessica and Eugene Sage, Erin Warnack, Trey Moore, Devin and Amanda Field, Tobby Field, Lane Moore, and Ryan Warnack; four great-grandchildren, Gracie Lou Sage, Kinslee Addison Moore, Kohen Lee Field, and Adalynn Nicole Field; brothers Melvin and Glenn Field; sisters-in-law Wilma Linn, Bonny Griffis, and Lois Field; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

It is with heavy hears and profound sadness that his family announces Field has gone to be with his beloved Louella and his savior Jesus Christ. His health struggles began in late January, worsened with every passing day, and significantly altered every aspect of his quality of life. On Aug. 10, after a long fought battle, he passed away peacefully at Hospice House in Vero Beach with loved ones at his bedside.

A long-time resident of Vero Beach, Field relocated here from Erie, Pa., in 1970 and became completely enamored with this city. Vero was everything to him and he was her loyal and proud public servant for 25 years, retiring in 1998 as the Superintendent of the Vero Beach City Parks Department. He was exceptionally proud of his work, maintaining the appearance and beauty of this town and it was his top priority every day. He had many lifelong “City” friends who were frequently in his thoughts, and who were very dear to him.

I, with the unwavering support and assistance of my aunt Bonny and Uncle Glenn have been honored and blessed to have had the opportunity, over the past several months, to have spent nearly every day with my father; it is time I will be forever grateful for. My single regret is that my dear siblings, Wendy and Brian, did not have the same opportunity; however, dad knew how deeply they loved and missed him although miles kept them physically apart. We will miss you immensely until we meet again, but we are comforted in knowing you have been relieved of such a great physical burden and are no longer suffering in pain. ~ Your loving daughter, Karen
