VERO BEACH — The Festival of Trees, the annual welcome to the holidays benefiting Riverside Children’s Theatre, has this year expanded its activities to almost a month long of events.
For the second year, two hands on girls night out workshops will be held to give attendees a head start on holiday preparations and, new this year, a Santa’s Elves workshop will give kids the opportunity to join the fun. Tickets for all events are limited and may be purchased at www.riversidetheatre.com.
On Nov. 4, Martha Ann Sloan of Create Art Studio will conduct a Holiday Paint Party for ladies. Attendees will be guided through the process of painting their own acrylic painting to take home. This event is sponsored by Southern Eagle Distributors.
The Girls Night Out Gingerbread Making workshop will take place on Nov. 12 and will be led by the Festival’s gingerbread experts Faye and Shannan Estes. Participants will decorate a small gingerbread house to take home. Light bites from Chelsea’s on Cardinal are provided at both events. Both events begin at 6:30 p.m.
Santa’s Elves Workshop for children ages 6 to 10 years will be taught by Martha Ann Sloan and assisted by Jennifer Lier. Children will make a surprise gift to give to a family member. Stories, games and refreshments will also keep little ones busy. Santa’s Elves Workshop is Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
All workshops are held in the Richardson Room of Riverside Children’s Theatre.
Shared Traditions, this year’s Festival of Trees on Nov. 21 and 22, celebrates an 18-year community tradition. Major sponsors include Platinum Presenting Sponsor George E. Warren Corporation and Platinum Sponsors Bill and Mary Ann Becker and the Corrigan Goddard Foundation. Net proceeds benefit the education and outreach programs of Riverside Children’s Theatre, the education arm of Riverside Theatre, Inc.
