A Florida Santa, swapping woolies for shorts and sandals, welcomed visitors to the third annual WinterGreen NightLights at the Environmental Learning Center last Saturday evening.
The 64-acre campus was transformed with twinkling holiday lights along its verdant trails and even among the mangroves, lighting the way for adventurous canoers.
Children went home with their own recycled holiday ornaments to adorn their Christmas trees while adults purchased presents for under the tree from the ELC’s Nature Nook gift shop.
School children wandered the StoryWalk Project – pages mounted on frames along a mangrove-lined trail – and dipped their hands in the Discovery Station Touch Tank, before singing festive Christmas carols in the Lagoon Room.
