INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Indian River County is expected to close Treasure Shores Beach for beach restoration after the effects of Hurricane Sandy Nov. 5, according to the Department of Public Works.
The County is under contract with Guettler Brother Construction, LLC to place 155,000 cubic yards via dump truck, according the report. The sand being used will be mined from the upland area west of Wabasso and will be compatible.
“The project will construct a modest dune feature by placing sand and planting dune vegetation from Treasure Shores Beach Park south to northern John’s Island,” according to the report.
The park is expected to reopen by Dec. 10.
