Fred Taylor, 91, of Vero Beach, passed away on May 30, 2014.
He is survived by his wife Beverly; sons, James S. Taylor, and John “Jeb” Taylor; daughter, Susan Sawtelle; stepsons Bradley Swartz and Christopher Frew; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Louise Taylor.
Taylor was born in New York City and moved to Vero Beach in the early 1980s from Santa Barbara, Calif. He graduated from Stauton Military Academy before serving in the US Marine Corps during World War II.
After his release from duty, Taylor attended and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and the Wharton School of Business.
He began his financial career with Kidder-Peabody in Illinois before forming his own financial consulting firm in Santa Barbara, Calif.
He was a member of the Orchid Island Golf and Beach Club and the Vero Beach Bridge Center. He went on to become a Life Master of Bridge. Throughout his life he enjoyed many activities including golf, tennis, hiking and canoeing as well as friends and family.
