VERO BEACH — In April, Lighthouse Gallery will present a special performance art piece in conjunction with the Yoga Pagoda and SLS Arts. “Avant Garde Pixies in Moving Meditation” will be performed live by yoga teachers Shelley Adelle, Nikki Farrow and Amanda Steadman in front of the gallery during the Dowtown Art Stroll on Friday, April 4, from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
These artist/performers will use paint and chalk on their hands and feet to illustrate, on canvas what their personal yoga practice looks like.
According to Megan Hoots, who came up with the concept and put the show together, “this is a unique opportunity to see master yoga teachers flow across their yoga mats, like graceful dancers, while visualizing their practice in vibrant color. Together they will answer the question, what does your yoga look like?”
The final canvas product will be stretched and auctioned to the highest bidder. All process from the auction will benefit Safe Space of the Treasure Coast, an organization dedicated to the elimination of battering and abuse as an option in personal, family, and workplace relationships.

This performance work is dedicated to those people traumatized by the effects of domestic violence in the hopes that awareness can make for a better dialog and better solutions.
These yoga masters will be bringing the talents to spread awareness of the benefits of this ancient form of exercise and meditation. Lighthouse Art and Framing hopes that the crowds at this month’s Downtown Art Stroll will go away with a unique experience and an expanded consciousness.
