Marijuana operation shut down in Sebastian

SEBASTIAN — The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office M.A.C.E. Unit has arrested a woman suspected of using her home as the base for a drug operation, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The M.A.C.E. Unit went to the 6100 block of 97th Street during an investigation into the sales and possession of marijuana, according to authorities. As they searched the residence they found Jeanine Rivera, 51, inside. During the search they also found 106 grams of marijuana in a safe, two boxes of clear plastic baggies, a digital scale, and $7,220.

Rivera stated she was the sole owner of all the marijuana inside the home. She also admitted to using and selling the drug. The report stated that she used the proceeds from the marijuana sales to purchase additional marijuana plants when the amounts become low.

Rivera faces charges of possession over 20 grams of marijuana and possession with intent to sell marijuana. Rivera remains in the Indian River County Jail on $10,000 bond.
