Indian River County Fairgrounds to hold quilt show Feb. 8-9

VERO BEACH — Sunbonnet Sue Quilters Guild, Inc. will hold their quilt show at the Indian River County Fairgrounds, 7955 81st St. in Vero Beach on Feb. 8 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Feb. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The fairgrounds are handicap accessible and also offer free parking.

The fee is $8 for adults, while children under 10 are admitted free.

The last time this event was presented to the public was 2009. So now, everyone is eager to display their quilts for your viewing pleasure.

On display will be quilts from all over the state of Florida. Each day there will be demonstrations of the art of quilting and also a fashion show sporting the new trend of clothing.

Large and small quilts are a must to see, enjoy, and some will be for sale.

There will be a special display, “The McKee Garden Quilt,” which depicts the garden as of today. This quilt is 101 inches wide and is just an unbelievable work of art. In this quilt, one can see the birds, turtles, flowers, the Palm Tree Walk, and the entrance archway of the garden.

This quilt was designed and appliquéd by members of the Sunbonnet Sue Quilters.

Food will be available by SouthernYankeebbq4u of Vero Beach.

Vendors will be on hand to supply you with quilting items for sale, the latest in pattern designs, and the new fabrics.
