Salvation Army thanks Sheriff, volunteers

VERO BEACH — The Salvation Army of IRC in Vero Beach would like to thank Sheriff Loar and all the volunteer sheriffs for helping with the Red Kettle pick-ups during our Holiday Red Kettle season.

Thank you for all the effort to help keep our bell ringers safe and the safety of the general public during the kettle season. Helping with the kettle pickups the past 3 seasons has helped the Salvation Army of IRC to “do the most good” with every dollar we received.

“That goes a long way with helping families in need during the Christmas season and year round,” said John Corapi, Director of Development of The Salvation Army of IRC.

“The goal is to insure that we stretch every dollar we receive to the maximum to help those less fortunate all year in 2012,” Corapi added.

About The Salvation Army:

The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination since 1865.

Nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless, and opportunities for underprivileged children.

About 82 cents of every dollar raised is used to carry out those services in nearly 5,000 communities nationwide.
