VERO BEACH — The Comedy Zone, Riverside Theatre’s monthly showcase for professional comics, announces an expanded offering of showcases all summer long with food, drink, and free live music.
Continuing our collaboration with Hale Groves River Market and Kilwin’s, Riverside adds free live music one hour prior to each Comedy Zone performance.

Dr. Papachubby combines it all: music, vocals, personality, and presence. If public feedback is any indication, no matter how far you travel, and no matter where you go, you will not hear a finer one-man-band anywhere.
Listing Eric Clapton, Steve Miller, Elton John, and Billy Joel as major musical influences, his music transcends age and gender for a memorable musical experience through the hits of the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. Dr. Papachubby performs on Friday, July 13.
Lenny Batista has been a musician in the South Florida area for more than 20 years and plays a broad mix of popular favorites: old and contemporary, rock, pop, country, and Latin music.
He has performed at many events and venues throughout the South Florida area including The Barnacle Moonlight Concerts and the Fort Lauderdale Blues Festival. His playlist ranges from The Eagles to Cat Stevens, from Van Morrison to Jason Mraz, from Train, Green Day, and the Goo Goo Dolls, to Toby Keith and Kenny Chesney.
Trained with famed music teacher Vincent Bredice, Lenny also plays the blues harp (harmonica) to accompany his guitar and vocal performances. With no prerecorded tracks, a performance by Lenny Batista is a live music event. Lenny Batista performs on Saturday, July 14.
Live musical performances are free prior to each Comedy Zone show.
Musical performances are Friday and Saturday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and 8:30-9:30 p.m.
Lobby bar opens at 6:30 p.m. and closes at 11 p.m.
Food service, provided by Hale Groves River Market, runs from 6:30- 9:30 p.m.
