INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — SafeSpace inducted five new members of the community to its board of directors at its annual installation banquet held last month.
Cathy LaCroix, Joan Smith, and Carissa Grone, all of whom have been active volunteers, Richard Giessert, Vice President of Commercial Banking at Northern Trust in Vero Beach, and Capt. David Thompson of the St. Lucie County Sheriffs Department joined the 20-member board.
LaCroix is chair of the Vero Beach Friends of SafeSpace, while Smith chairs the Martin County Friends, and Grone leads the newly formed Friends in St. Lucie County.
SafeSpace also appointed its officers for the upcoming year: Bob Schlitt, Jr. will serve as president. Margaret Richebourg was named president-elect. Bryan Gardner is the new secretary, and Rich Mishock is treasurer.
Other board members are: Linda Bartz, Sally Batz, Rebecca Beckett, Lorett DeSantis-Fribourg, Mindi Fetterman, Ken Hagin, Bonney Johnson, Tom Manwaring, Chuck Olsson, Donna Riordan, Bud Spencer, and Theresa L. Wyres.
