The Junior League is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving communities through the effective action of trained volunteers.

Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable, and it reaches out to women of all races, religions, and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism.

The Junior League of Indian River identifies needs within the community and develops projects that address those specific needs.

Several key events this year, which will be repeated during the 2012-2013 year, include the Oktoberfest and Tour of Homes.

These events raise funds to support Community Impact Projects which benefit a variety of local organizations and Whole Child Indian River, the League’s newest ground-floor initiative which supports local children and families.

League members combined with other community members devote significant time to support these and other events. As a result of their commitment to the work of the league and devotion to our community, several individuals received special awards for their service. The 2012 Award Recipients included:

Spirit of the League: Chrissy Stephens, JLIR Active Member
