James L. Godfrey, 76, died June 3, 2012, at his home.
He was born in North Miami and lived in Fellsmere for 45 years, coming from his birthplace.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Nancy Godfrey, of Fellsmere; sons, Kenny Godfrey, of Fellsmere, Aughtman Cruce, of Vero Beach and Steve Cruce and Ernest Cruce, both of Panama City; daughters, Barbara Moss and Laura Gray, both of Fellsmere, and Ida Holmes, of Sebastian; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA/Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Crenshaw; and daughter, Hazel Spahr.
A celebration of life will be at 3 p.m. June 9 at Fellsmere Baptist Church, followed by an Irish wake.
