VERO BEACH — Geared for another spectacular turnout, the Indian River Land Trust will host its 5th annual membership event on Saturday, March 31, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Round Island Riverside Park.
In 2011, the event brought more than 220 members together, and with a substantial increase in memberships this season, the Land Trust expects even more in attendance.
Members of the Land Trust will enjoy a barbeque lunch catered by Hale Groves River Market, live music by Porch Pickers, kayaking compliments of Adventure Kayaking, and a light walking guided or self-guided tour.
While celebrating the Indian River Lagoon, members are provided the opportunity to overlook the South Vero Conservation Land. Across the Lagoon from Round Island Riverside Park, the 185 acre property was protected by the Land Trust in September 2011.
This year’s event sponsors include Mr. and Mrs. Henry G. Stifel, Toni Robinson, Adventure Kayaking, Smith Heating & Air Conditioning, and Vero Marine.
Established in 1990, the mission of the Indian River Land Trust is to promote the preservation, conservation, and improvement of natural resources and special places in Indian River County, Florida, for the benefit of the general public and future generations.
