INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — Pack up some pantry items and pay it forward with chiropractic physician Sam Cassara and staff at Cassara Chiropractic Center on Saturday Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Dr. Cassara is hosting “Healing Hands – Healing Hunger” at his Center, 2175 20th St., Vero Beach, located on the corner of State Road 60 and 22nd Avenue.
The event is a benefit for the local non-profit organization Harvest Food and Outreach Center.
Donations of canned goods, cereal and any non perishable foods will be accepted for the Harvest Center’s food pantry. Cassara Chiropractic Center will be offering complimentary chiropractic adjustments and mini neck massages during the event in a gesture of appreciation to attendees for their support of the food pantry.
Additionally, licensed massage therapists Darlene Irby and Michael Gifford will be available for five-minute complimentary chair massages. To receive the adjustments and massages, participants must be at least 18 years of age.
“We are blessed to have our business in this community and have been further blessed with the power to help people with health issues,” says Dr. Cassara. “With this event, we will help attendees who benefit from the adjustments and massages, and at the same time, their gifts of food will go to those most in need in our community. This event is about experiencing the joy of giving and receiving.”
Harvest Food and Outreach Center is dedicated to offering assistance with food, clothing, employment, social advocacy, and crisis care to help families acquire the resources to break the cycle of poverty.
The Harvest Center has three locations, including two in Vero Beach at 1050 Old Dixie Hwy. SW and 1360 28th St., and one in Ft. Pierce at 2520 Orange Ave.
Representatives of the Harvest Center will be attending the event, according to Linda Cassara, office manager of Cassara Chiropractic Center.
“The Harvest Center’s need for food has more than doubled in the past year due to the present economic climate,” said Linda Cassara. “They really care about the people they work with. They provide more than just temporary help with food by offering education and resources that propel people to the next level. Harvest makes a difference that enables people to enhance who they are and make genuine progress.”
The event is open to the public.
