SEBASTIAN — “Get Hooked on Sebastian” will remain the message for the city’s billboard in Titusville, but the photo will be swapped for a pair of kids fishing at the end of a pier, the city council has decided.
The former image – that of three men fishing from a boat in what appears to be the Indian River Lagoon – did not hold up to being resized to billboard proportions, City Manager Al Minner told the council last week.
In its place, he presented two options – the photo of two kids sitting at the end of a pier fishing and a collage of three silhouetted people surf fishing at the Sebastian Inlet.
“It does seem Sebastian-esque,” Minner said of the photo with the kids, adding that there is no information on where the photo was taken.
“My favorite’s the kids,” Councilwoman Andrea Coy said, noting that either one would suffice.
Her fellow council members agreed and unanimously supported the photo of the younger anglers.
The image is stock art and will cost a couple hundred dollars for the city to buy the rights to, Minner told the council. The council approved the purchase.
