Women’s Rights Luncheon planned for Nov. 10

VERO BEACH — The Indian River Women‘s Health Coalition and the Social Justice Committee of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Vero Beach will sponsor a “Lunch and Learn” program on Thursday, Nov. 10, in the UUFVB Fellowship Hall, from Noon to 1:30 p.m.

Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. This is a friend-raiser and information session, not a fundraiser for any organization.

Several state and national women‘s rights groups will be represented by local audience members who wish to maintain and increase women‘s reproductive rights.

Judith Selzer, vice president of Public Affairs for Planned Parenthood of South Florida and the Treasure Coast, and Florida Atlantic University Professor of Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies, will speak about proposed Florida legislation that might eliminate current rights.

Enjoy a casual salad lunch while learning about legislation affecting women’s health, reproductive rights and the Florida Constitution.

Meet like-minded friends from local organizations: NOW, DWC, BPW, AAUW, Republicans for Choice, Planned Parenthood and other progressive thinkers and activists.

Reservations at $15 per person can be made before Nov. 3 by phone at (772) 492-1683 or by emailing [email protected].

The UUFVB has easy parking, is handicapped-accessible and is located at 1590 27th Avenue, Vero Beach on the southeast corner of 27th Avenue and 16th Street.
