VERO BEACH — Sonya Morrison, Executive Director at The Source has announced that the organization is proud to be the recipient of $96,500 in grant awards this year, and extends a special thank you on behalf of the Board of Directors to its generous donors.
Grants include the John’s Island Community Service League, for funding $30,000 in operating support for direct client services; The John’s Island Foundation, who provided $39,000 in grant support for urgent building repairs; the Janke Charitable Foundation, who supplied $9,000 in operating support and $1,000 towards the “Lauren Weaver Christmas Shoe Box Project;” the John and Norma Darling Foundation for their contribution of $10,000 in operating support; and finally Christ Church for their donation of $7,500 for expenses relating to its weather shelter program.
The Source is a Christian outreach ministry for homeless individuals and families at-risk. The doors of The Source open six days a week to provide people in need with nourishment for the body and soul. The ministry offers daily hot meals, an emergency food pantry, clothing, showers, counseling, support groups and a host of other services.
