VERO BEACH — For the past 60 years the Vero Beach Art Club has organizing the Under the Oaks Fine Art & Craft Show.
This year’s show will be held the weekend of March 11 to 13 at Riverside Park in Vero Beach, nestled between the Riverside Theatre and the Vero Beach Museum of Art. Once again, in keeping with the Vero Beach Art Club’s policy of bringing art to the public, there are no admittance fees and parking is free.
Enjoy onsite cafe dining, shuttle service and handicap access. Due to city park regulations, no pets are allowed. Show hours are Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
From a small park show Under the Oaks has grown to be a major year round endeavor; organizing a crew of over 400 artists, 100 + volunteers and committee members; publicizing the event around the country, and seeking out the top artists in their medium.
Under the Oaks is considered the “Best Arts & Crafts Show in Florida” as voted by readers of Florida Monthly Magazine and 57th in the Top 200 shows in the nation as rated by Sunshine Artist by art aficionados around the country.
Past shows have recorded between 75,000 and 80,000 visitors and it grows each year. It is one of the largest on the Treasure Coast and one of the most respected for its high standard of art and no nonsense approach to keeping the show devoid of manufactured art and purely a show by artists with very high standards.
This year, along with celebrating the Art Club’s 75th Anniversary, Under the Oaks celebrates their Diamond Anniversary – 60 years – and they will be pulling out all the stops to make it their best, according to organizers.
The committee went high tech this year and applications went through an online process which brought in applicants from the US and Europe. Over 750 applied and were juried to the 210-plus best and most unique artists.
