Jerome Drake Brown Sr., 59, died Feb. 10, 2011, at his home.
He was born in Sebring and moved to Indian River County as an infant in 1953.
He was educated in the public schools of Gifford, including Gifford High School.
He was employed, before becoming disabled, as a carpenter in the construction industry.
He was a member of St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church, Gifford.
Survivors include his son, Jerome Lamar Brown, of Vero Beach; daughters, Aldremah Conerly and Ellexine Brown, both of Dallas, and Jasmine Cobb, of Orlando; his caregiver of 10 years, Lewana Marine, of Vero Beach; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Mae Brown; brother, Edward Charles Brown Sr.; sister, Carrie Mae Brown; and maternal-grandparents, Carrie and Grover “Mack” McCray.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 18 at St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church, Gifford.
A home-going celebration will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 19 at the church, with the pastor, the Rev. Andrew Jefferson, officiating.
Burial and dove release will follow in Gifford Cemetery, Gifford.
