Gerald S. Schillon, 84, died Dec. 31, 2010, at the VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.
He was born in Newark, N.J., and lived in Vero Beach since 1999, coming from Monroe Township, N.J.
He received his bachelor’s degree at Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C.
Before retirement, he worked as a chemical engineer at Rhom Haas, now part of Dow Chemical.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach.
Survivors include his wife of eight years, Sue; stepsons, David and Joseph; stepdaughters, Rose Marie, Ann and Carol; and 10 step-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 3 at Cox-Gifford-Seawinds Funeral Home in Vero Beach followed by Mass being celebrated at 2 p.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church.
Final services and interment will be at St. Cecelia Cemetery in Coatesville, Pa., with arrangements by Harris-Mountain Funeral Home, Coatesville.
