INDIAN RIVER COUNTY – The Treasure Coast Food Bank is receiving thousands of pounds of fresh produce each day from local farmers and needs volunteers to sort and repackage the fresh vegetables. The produce will then go right back out to their local food pantries and soup kitchens. The Harvest Food & Outreach Center provides food and hope to those in need on the Treasure Coast of Florida.
Volunteers needed from Monday through Friday starting at 10 am. This volunteer opportunity requires standing and bending as the produce arrives in large bins. Closed toe shoes are a must. The work is done outdoors most days. Volunteers will be requested to sign a Release of Liability Form.
