Julia Ann King, 54, Vero Beach

Julia Ann King, 54, of Vero Beach, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at VNA Hospice House.

She was born March 10, 1956, in Cortland, Ohio, and moved to Vero Beach 52 years ago, coming from her birthplace. King was a homemaker and a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach.

Survivors include her mother, Dorothy King, of Vero Beach; sister, Deborah Koeing, of Warner Robins, Ga.; brother, Richard A. King, of Vero Beach; and two sisters, Becky King and Jodie Lloyd, also of Vero Beach.

There will be no services.

Contributions may be made to the Special Equestrians of the Treasure Coast, P.O. Box 651312, Vero Beach, FL, 32965, in memory of Ms. King.

VERO BEACH — While chilly temperatures caused a drop in beach attendance last month, lifeguards are happy to report that there were no water rescues that occurred in January. ‘No swimming’ advisory lifted for beaches, officials say

VERO BEACH — Authorities lifted a 'no swimming' advisory for three local beaches Tuesday after test samples showed that bacteria returned to normal levels, health department and city officials said. The result means it was safe to return to the water Tuesday, Vero Beach city officials said. The advisory - which was in place for nearly a week - was issued Jan. 31 for South Beach, Humiston Beach and Sexton Plaza Beach after high levels of fecal-related bacteria were reported at the locations. Howle, Zudans win in Vero; Kinchen, McPartlan, Iovino in Sebastian

All results are in for the Vero Beach and Sebastian municipal elections. Voters have returned Harry Howle to the Vero Beach Council and Bob McPartlan and Linda Kinchen to the Sebastian Council. Val Zudans will join Howle on the Vero Council, while Albert Iovino will round out the last of three seats up for grabs on the Sebastian Council.
