Edward F. Dolan, 78, of Sebastian, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne.
Mr. Dolan was born Oct. 1, 1931, in Bronx, N.Y., and moved to Sebastian two years ago from Hampstead, N.C. He was a Police Officer with the NYC Police Department for 20 years and served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Dolan was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church and had been an Altar boy at St John’s in Bronx, N.Y.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Marie Dolan, of Sebastian; sons, Edward Dolan Jr., of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., Rudy Ortiz, of Deerfield Beach, Fla., and Gregory Ortiz of Fuquay-Varina, N.C; daughter, Mattie Ann Skidmore, of Raleigh, N.C., eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian with a prayer service at 4:30 p.m.
