Ruth Richards Corcoran, 86, of Vero Beach, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at the Atlantic Healthcare Center in Vero Beach.
Ruth was born April 15, 1924, in Elizabeth, N. J. and moved to Vero Beach in the mid 90’s when she wed Ray Corcoran. She graduated from Batton High School, Elizabeth, N. J., and retired from General Magnaplate, Linden, N.J., where she served as the Corporate Secretary and assistant to the President. Throughout her life, Ruth was an ardent supporter and volunteer for the American Red Cross. She also devoted her time to the Girl Scouts of America and was a member of the Board of Directors for the local YWCA.
Survivors include her step-sons, Barry L. Corcoran, of Westfield, N.J., and R. Guy Corcoran, of Warren, R.I.; nephew, George A. Richards, of Kitty Hawk, N.C.; and niece, Jane Kimmel, of Watchung, N.J.
She is preceded in death by husband, Ray, and her brother, George R. Richards, Jr.
