Lillian Guadagno, 74, Vero Beach

Lillian Guadagno, 74, died July 6, 2010, at Indian River Medical Center.

She was born in Newark, N.J., and lived in Vero Beach for 25 years, coming from Daytona Beach.

She was a health-care provider at Indian River Estates prior to her retirement.

Survivors include her daughter, Isabella Guadagno of Orlando; sons, Anthony Guadagno of Charlotte, N.C., Michael Guadagno, Pat Guadagno and Lucas DeLeon, all of Vero Beach; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pasquale M. Guadagno; and a daughter, Philamina Accord.

Slight dip for July beach attendance compared to last year

VERO BEACH — Beachgoers are hitting the shores this summer all while practicing social distancing amid the coronavirus pandemic. The city's three guarded beaches had a slight dip in attendance numbers in July compared to last year, according to a Vero Beach Lifeguard Association report. Last month, 86,095 people flocked to Jaycee Park Beach, Humiston Park Beach and South Beach Park, lifeguards said. This number is less than the 86,686 beachgoers who hit the sand in July 2019. ‘No swimming’ advisory lifted for beaches, officials say

VERO BEACH — Authorities lifted a 'no swimming' advisory for three local beaches Tuesday after test samples showed that bacteria returned to normal levels, health department and city officials said. The result means it was safe to return to the water Tuesday, Vero Beach city officials said. The advisory - which was in place for nearly a week - was issued Jan. 31 for South Beach, Humiston Beach and Sexton Plaza Beach after high levels of fecal-related bacteria were reported at the locations.
