Jack Barbour Bing, 86, died July 9, 2010, at VNA Hospice House, Vero Beach.
He was born in Yolyn, W.Va., lived in Vero Beach since 1997 and spent summers in Boone, N.C., since 1981.
He graduated from Marshall University in 1946 with a bachelor of science degree in engineering. He worked for 34 years a civil engineer with the U.S. Civil Service, completing his career with NASA in the manned space program at Kennedy Space Center.
He was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Vero Beach where he sang in the choir.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Edna May; son, Scott Bing of Vero Beach; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his son, Rusty Bing.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. July 13 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Vero Beach.
