Victor K. Webb, Jr., 85, died July 5, 2010, at VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.
Born in Providence, R.I., the son of the late Victor K. Webb, Sr. and the Mary (Wood) Webb. He was the husband of the late Jean (Sychta) Webb, and the late Estelle (Derocher) Webb, and devoted father of Janis (Bunny) Ricciardi of Vero Beach.
He was the brother of Ruth Thayer of Warwick, R.I., Robert Webb of East Greenwich, R.I., and the late Arline Goes of Warren, R.I.
He is also survived by his companion Helen Paltell of Vero Beach.
He lived in Warwick most of his life and came to Vero Beach two years ago, from East Greenwich, R.I. An avid sports fan, he followed the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots his entire adult life.
He was a decorated World War II veteran of submarine warfare in the Pacific. He served on the U.S.S. Perch (SS313) and the U.S.S. Sea Cat (SS399).
He also served as part of the crew that brought the Japanese submarine I-14 from Japan to Pearl Harbor after the war ended.
Burial will be at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, R.I.
