Benjamin E. Gibson, 92, died June 7, 2010, at Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach.
He was born in Elloree, S.C., and lived in Vero Beach since 2000, coming from Waldo.
He was a combat veteran of World War II and Korea and served 20 years in the Army. He received two Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars.
Survivors include his sisters, Ella Larson, Lucille Cochran and Sally Boggs, all of Jacksonville, and Rose Ann Harte of North Carolina; and brother, Aubrey Gibson of Freeport, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth L. Gibson in 2007.
A memorial service will be at 9 a.m. June 11 at the Florida Baptist Retirement Center in Vero Beach.
Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
