John Edward Larsen, 56, died June 12, 2010 at the Treasure Coast Hospice House, after suffering a chronic illness.
He was born on Oct. 17, 1953 in Summit, N.J. He graduated High Point High School in Sussex County, New Jersey in 1972.
He then moved to Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, where he lived periodically until moving to Florida in 1983. He was a successful residential contractor in Indian River County for over 20 years.
Mr. Larsen is survived by his daughter, Eleanor Houston, son-in-law Clayton Houston, and his grand-daughter, Kirsten Larsen.
He is further survived by his father George Walter Larsen and his brother, George Walter Larsen Jr.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Robertson Larsen.
A memorial celebration will be held Saturday, June 19 at noon at the Speakeasy Pub in Vero Beach. His family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to either the Treasure Coast Hospice House or the Indian River County Humane Society.
