Ingke Boegel, 78, Vero Beach

Ingke Boegel, 78, died April 30, 2010, at the VNA Hospice House in Vero Beach.

She was born in Wittbek, Germany, and lived in Florida for 19 years, coming from Monroe, N.Y. Before retiring, she worked at Publix.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Hans Boegel of Vero Beach; son, Ralph Boegel of Marlborough, Mass.; daughter, Vera Byrd of Chatham, N.J.; brothers, Erich Nehlsen of Nordhastedt, Germany, and Gerd Nehlsen of Kassel, Germany; sisters, Elfriede Rath of Westerroenfeld, Germany, and Elke Wehrhahn of Grube, Germany; and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA/Hospice Foundation, 1110 35th Lane, Vero Beach, FL 32960.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon May 4 at the Cox-Gifford-Sea winds Funeral Home, Vero Beach, with a life celebration service at noon at the funeral home. A guest book may be signed at sea windsfh.com/obit.php.

‘Tragic, sudden loss,’ – Memorials emerge for teen killed in ATV crash

With the sudden death of Sebastian River High School student Jake Beecher still fresh, family, friends, teammates and coaches continue to come to terms with the tragic crash that took his life.
