Indian River Symphonic Association elects new slate of officers

VERO BEACH — At its annual meeting in April, the Indian River Symphonic Association elected two new board members to serve for three-year terms – Talmage Rogers and Charles Sheehan.  The Association expressed its appreciation to departing president Susan Smith for her leadership and hard work over the past six years.  Ms. Smith departed from the Board because of term limitations.

The officers of the Association for the coming year are: Raymond Mitchell as President, Robert Reed as Vice President, Loring Catlin asTreasurer and Lori Lazorik as Secretary.

The concert schedule for 2010-11 offers four foreign symphony orchestras and three concerts by the Brevard Symphony Orchestra.  Maestro Keith Lockhart will start off the season on November 18 with the BBC Concert Orchestra.  Maestro Philippe Entremont will return on February 5 with the German State Philharmonic and will perform as both conductor and piano soloist.  For the March 6 concert, the recently installed pipe organ at the Community Church will be featured in the Saint-Saens Organ Symphony, and played by Jose Daniel Flores.
