Bud Parsons, 86, died Jan. 21, 2010, at Indian River Medical Center.
He was born Dumont, N.J., and lived in Vero Beach since 1997, coming from Virginia Beach, Va. Before retirement, he was an optician.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Vero Beach and sang in the choir.
He volunteered at the Marine Science Museum in Virginia Beach before moving to Vero Beach.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Sue Parsons of Vero Beach; sons, Timothy and Neil Parsons, both of Vero Beach; daughter, Bunny Parsons of Vero Beach; sister, Edna Scott of Tucson, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Phil and Warren Parsons; and sister, Gladys Cancro.
