SEBASTIAN — Sebastian residents have only a couple more days to register to vote in the Sebasitan City Council election on Nov. 3. The registration period ends Oct. 5.
Voters will be asked to select two candidates they want to represent them on the 5-member council.
Council members Andrea Coy and Eugene Wolff are seeking reelection. Councilwoman Dale Simchick declined to run for reelection. Six others are challenging the incumbents. The challengers include David DeVirgilio, Bob McPartlan, Alex Paternoster, Lisanne Monier Robinson, Joseph Scozzari and Donald Wright. Registration is available during regular business hours at the Supervisor of Elections office located at 4375 43rd Ave., Unit #101 in Vero Beach from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Applications are also available at city halls, county offices, and libraries, and at the Supervisor of Elections Web site, www.VoteIndianRiver.com. Online applications must be printed, signed and returned to the Supervisor of Elections Office.
Requests for absentee ballots may be filled out online or by calling the Supervisor of Elections Office.
To be eligible to register to vote, residents must:
Be 18 years old or older (Pre-registration begins at age 16),
Be a U.S. Citizen,
Be a permanent resident of Indian River County,
Not be adjudicated mentally incapacitated (with respect to voting), and
Not be convicted of a felony (without having your rights restored).
